Terms

These are the terms the practice works to. They are the same terms set out in the letter you are sent before your appointment, which the law requires me to provide.

This covers the practice’s own fees and arrangements. The hospital where you are seen charges separately and has its own terms, and how this website handles your details is set out in the privacy notice.

Consultation fees

My fees for a first consultation and for a follow-up are published in full on the fees page, along with the package price for every operation I commonly carry out. An estimate is correct at the date it is given to you.

Some charges are the hospital’s rather than mine, and are billed by them separately. Nasal endoscopy is the usual example. If you are self-funding a procedure such as wax removal, endoscopy or nasal cautery, the hospital charges for it and I add nothing on top.

If you have private medical insurance, the practice invoices your insurer directly. You remain responsible for any charge your insurer does not pay.

See the fees page for every figure, including the package price for each operation and what a package does and does not cover.

Cancellations and missed appointments

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to move or cancel an appointment. Give us that and there is no charge. For a Monday appointment we need to hear from you before 11am on the preceding Thursday.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or do not attend, the full appointment fee is payable and is not refunded. At that notice the appointment cannot be offered to anyone else.

If you have already paid, cancel with the hospital directly and email the accounts team, who will deal with any refund due.

The accounts team is at accounts@jaygoswamy.com.

Tests and investigations

You may need tests after your consultation, such as blood tests or imaging. Where the hospital carries these out rather than me, the hospital sets the fee and charges you or your insurer separately.

If you need tests after your appointment, arranging the follow-up is yours to do, at the hospital where the tests were performed.

Insurance

Please speak to your insurer before your consultation and check what your policy covers, in particular any limit it sets on an individual consultation fee. I am recognised by most private medical insurance companies.

AXA

After careful consideration, I am no longer fee-assured with AXA. I stopped accepting new AXA-insured patients in December 2025, and the arrangement ended in April 2026. Patients who had already started treatment are completing their care as planned. If you are insured with AXA and would like to be seen, call the practice and we will talk through the options with you.

Recording during your consultation

I use ambient recording during consultations to help produce your clinic letter.

If you would rather I did not, say so at the start of your appointment. It will not affect your care in any way.

Asking about any of this

Call the practice on 0161 726 5100 or email care@jaygoswamy.com. If something here is not clear before you book, it is better asked than assumed.
